> [Ezekiel 23:16](Ezekiel%2023.md#^16) note
>
> Chaldea, or Babylon, represents the kingdom of Satan with whom the churches and congregations commit adultery prior to judgment day. And this verse teaches us that as Satan is loosed in [Revelation 20:7](Revelation%2020.md#^7), [8](Revelation%2020.md#^8) and [9](Revelation%2020.md#^9) to come against the camp of the saints, he is not repulsed by them. You'd think that the churches would notice that there is evil coming in, that they would try to stop it to keep as pure as possible, not to allow the thinking of the world and the corruptions of the world to overtake them. But in most instances these things are invited into the churches, they are delighted to have them come in. The Holy Spirit is no longer in the midst to restrain them.
>
> So when Satan was loosed he was not faced with a fenced city that he had to crash through, the churches are wide open for his blandishments and enticements, the kinds of things he would like as he takes his seat in the temple.
>
> God continues through the remainder of this chapter illustrating this and then from verse 25 on His judgment upon them. This is not just conversation, this is reality. This is God's appraisal, His assessment of what's going on in the churches and congregations in our day. ^eze23-16
